The Cable Center is an educational nonprofit that fuels the advancement of the connectivity and content industry. The Cable Center includes preeminent archival collections that preserve the stories and celebrate the contributions of the cable industry’s original entrepreneurs. It is located on the north side of the University of Denver campus.
The Drendel Gardens and Rogers Amphitheater are both key components of the Cable Center, providing rich outdoor venues for events, including weddings, celebrations, or business meetings. The gardens provide a graceful point of connection to the campus, and a quiet counterpoint to the interactive exhibits located within the Center. The gardens include a rich palette of xeric plantings, showcasing many Colorado native species, and providing comfortable shaded seating areas along a series of parallel paths that extend from the street towards the amphitheater. As the local stormwater system was overburdened, the gardens are designed to capture and detain local stormwater flows and release them over time into the ground.
Rogers Amphitheater provides a sloped lawn space and stage, providing a wonderful venue for outdoor movies, weddings, or other events. The Drendel Gardens and Rogers Amphitheater contribute significantly towards making the Cable Center one of the most desirable special event venues in Denver.
