The Boulder Country Club's existing pool and athletic center are aging and in need of repair and replacement. To better serve the needs of club members, it was time to reimagine these facilities. After extensive outreach to the club community, the redesign of the pool deck introduces a fresh entry experience, a variety of pool types, shaded gathering spaces, and improved connections to nature. Enhanced views of the Flatirons, along with natural stone and plantings, create a more inviting atmosphere.
The renovation will be completed in phases, starting with the pool and followed by the athletic center. The preferred design features five distinct pool areas: a recreational pool, a year-round heated lap pool, a spa, an adult pool, and a children's pool. Recognizing the club’s diverse membership, the design carefully considers the needs of competitive lap swimmers, families, and casual users. A key improvement includes relocating the pool deck entrance to the north side of the facility, offering better visibility into the pool area, easier access, and a more welcoming arrival experience.
The project has been enthusiastically received by club members, and the pool renovation is slated to begin in the next few years.
