Crescent Park, located in the heart of the Maple Hill neighborhood, spans 7 acres and serves as a key recreational space for residents of north Fort Collins. Given the limited access to parks and trails in the area, the creation of Crescent Park was met with great enthusiasm from the surrounding neighborhoods. The park is bordered by tall homes, offering scenic views into the space while also requiring a degree of separation. To address this, the park's grade was lowered, creating a privacy buffer along the west and south sides while still maintaining sightlines into the park.
The park is irrigated with raw water collected from the nearby Baker lateral and transferred to an on-site irrigation pond. To minimize water usage, the park's turf area is limited, and generous native plant buffers surround the perimeter, promoting sustainability. The restroom, seamlessly integrated into the native landscape buffer, features a stone terraced wall that also serves as a climbing wall. Native plants, boulders, and a seating area adorn the roof of the restroom, providing a unique vantage point and overlook of the park.
Additional amenities at Crescent Park include a playground, pavilion, art sculptures, and a sled hill, offering diverse recreational opportunities for park visitors.
